Apples & Oranges.

On Saturday, we I took Annabel to a farmers' market. This one is called Veg Out and is held monthly at the Peanut Farm Oval, which is situated just behind Acland Street in St Kilda, next to the community gardens. She loves it there. There are musicians, families, kids, and a great array of stalls. You can get anything from your regular fruit and veg. to gourmet produce such as the turkey & cranberry sausages we bought from a small company based in Bairnsdale. There is a stall where for $4.50 you can get a bacon and egg roll (which is well worth the couple of extra dollars more than the yellow arches), or you can get a venison or buffalo sausage in bread from the same place. You can get soup, spinach and fetta crepes, you name it. And while you're chowing down on breakfast, entertainment is also covered by Mr Espanol the colourful Spaniard who sings, dances and plays a vast selection of instruments. He also provides a basket of fun kiddy instruments for them to interact- Annabel loves the maracas best.

We skipped our usual Veg.Out breakfast in favour of the warmth and comfort of one of the local cafes and wandered around to Acland Street, where a popular corner cafe Fringe is located. Our favourite waiters, Jamie and Dominic were there, and thus Annie scored herself about 5 more biscotti than usually dispensed with coffee. We had poached eggs, salmon, spinach, toast, cranberry juice, coffee, chocolate baby-milkshake, everything. Annabel managed to twist her grandfather out of a $1 coin to get a bouncy ball from the machine, and virtually managed to disrupt the whole place.

It was a GOOD day.

In other news,

We've registered for Summerschool 2012 to be held at Monivae College in Hamilton!
Annabel will have the time of her life with the other kids there, and I can hopefully enjoy some prayer time too, with childrens' ministry and all.

Christmas is fast approaching. And I'm strongly resisting the urge to yell "Bah Humbug" out of every second window...I have to say Christmas doesn't exactly bring out the best Catholic in me...but I'm learning.

Till next time saints in the making,
Stephanie & Annabel.
